I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker based in Boulder, Colorado, where I live with my husband and two teenage daughters. For over 20 years, I’ve worked with adults and teens in a range of therapeutic settings, including sexual health education. My training blends the best of Eastern and Western therapeutic approaches, giving me a well-rounded, no-nonsense yet deeply compassionate perspective on growth, healing, and connection.
My career has taken me through a wide landscape of service—Colorado Outward Bound School and Women’s Wilderness Institute, Planned Parenthood, the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs Hospital, and the University of Colorado’s Psychological and Psychiatry Department—before ultimately leading me to open my private practice in 2006.
In 2017, I expanded my work to combine psychotherapy with parent coaching, helping parents of adolescents navigate this often-bumpy, always-evolving journey. I offer a variety of groups for moms and dads raising adolescent girls and those socialized as she/her. My workshops are designed to provide parents with practical strategies, fresh perspective, and a healthy dose of compassion—so they can truly see, support, and stay connected to their kids (without losing themselves in the process). I primarily use the IFS therapeutic approach with my clients and in all my years of practice, I have found this modality to create inner growth and integration in the most effective, kind and non-pathologizing way.
IFS is a type of therapy that believes we all have different parts or sub-personalities within us that require attention and compassion. These parts live within us and have both healthy and unhealthy roles. Through IFS, one learns how to access these parts, understand them, work with them, and achieve balance within the internal system to experience self-compassion, self-awareness, and overall health.
